Welcome to Dragonfly Peony Farm! In an enchanting and whimsical forested Sierra foothill setting, overlooking the Mokelumne river in Wilseyville, Ca., Julia Moore operates Dragonfly Peony Farm, one of only a handful of Peony farms in the entire state. Julia's "Coral Charm" Peony has taken best-of-show twice in recent years at the Calaveras County Fair and other varieties have won multiple blue ribbons. Among gardeners and landscapers there is a growing awareness of the Peony: a lovely old-fashioned, cold-hardy plant that produces large, flamboyant flowers each spring and carries a legacy dating back to ancient China. Colors range from pure white to varying shades of pink, lavender, yellow, coral and red. - Many of 2013's picks are on the site now! - Check back often as there are more to come! All Peonies at the farm are large, freshly dug healthy 2 year old root systems. Most of these Peonies will bloom the first year. "During bloom season, Dragonfly Peony Farm is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bare root season runs from mid-September to mid-November.
